Dear Corban,
We have some delightful news: Colter finally took his official first steps walking to Daddy yesterday! What a fun way to celebrate Valentine's Day! It's just such a pleasure and a joy to watch your littlest brother making new strides and reaching different milestones. That kid can climb up onto pretty much anything he wants to, which makes baby gates and other obstacles somewhat of a moot point. He's still learning to go down the stairs the right way. He has taken his share of tumbles into and off of many things as he tries to conquer new summits.
Colter will be turning 14 months old in two days. We are truly over the moon for him and his quirky smile and teasing ways. He enjoys leaning in for a head bump or a kiss now and then. He often will tease by getting all puckered up so that you will lean in to kiss and then he'll head bump you instead and laugh.
Callan often can be heard singing different songs from either Primary or his time enjoying watching Bob the Builder, Mighty Machines, Tayo, and Thomas and His Friends. His versions of these theme songs are definitely cuter than the ones the shows have. He also has a very fast-paced version of the ABCs that he sings just randomly before switching to something like You are My Sunshine or I am a Child of God. His latest version of Wheels on the Bus is a hit because he does it a hard rock style like the one version Dad showed him by Leo (YouTube it and you will be hooked too). Callan will get out his deep, throaty voice and sing the lyrics with a huge grin.
In addition to singing various songs Callan has enjoyed creating and building. Some of his birthday surprises and gifts included building set and such. Callan is gifted with puzzles and things spatially so naturally, he started to experimenting with his Lincoln logs and also his wooden train tracks set. It's a delight watching him find the correct pieces and building something that he enjoys.
Truyly, your two little brothers keep their parents on their toes. These big steps that Colter has taken in walking will only open more opportunities.
We miss you, little one. Watch over us and know how much we love you.
Love,
Dad and Mom
